SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURES

I have been working on this painting on and off for about 8 months.  Some times I take small steps forward, other times it becomes stagnant remains a tough project.

My studio time has been very limited this winter.

This is my most recent project.

Due to family illness and personal illness the piece has not moved forward from this point.

Waking to the spring sun inside of my studio my geraniums cannot wait to return to the outdoors.

My most recent landscape that is nearing completion.

The working title is late summer in the New Haven marsh on particle board. This painting has gone through a few more changes but is nearly complete.

It’s been a while since I have posted anything that I have been working on in the studio.  This is a painting that I began in 2006 and set aside until this summer.  It has gone through many changes.  I am almost finished with it but again I am setting it a side for a new project I am beginning.

This image that I shot in mid-autumn at Crall woods is inspiration for my current painting series of the four seasons.

I have had a very busy autumn schedule which is why I have not made time to post on my art blog. You can see my other projects from viewing my other blogs.  I used to be excited to be so busy!  Now I want to slow down and focus on my interests.

For some reason I did not add my winter paintings to this photograph…but I’m happy with the progress I’ve made.  This is my most productive year since closing my last studio in 2006 and completing grad school in 2011.  I hope to begin posting again on a regular basis.  The gallery at my studio is closed for the winter so now I can focus on painting.

This summer I have been working in the studio little by little and have started several projects that have returned me to a more abstract form of expressionism.

It’s been fun to explore many ideas using line, shape, and color along with words and letters.

Some of my projects have focused on concepts or themes, and another project I am working on explores the seasons.

Now these examples that I have posted -of what I’m working on- have all changed, and the images are documents of the stages of the  development of the projects.

I began this idea of the seasons during the end of winter while longing for spring .   I’m currently working on completing the images of spring with the winter images being mostly completed. The area around Willard is my inspiration for the seasons.

I made an early morning trip to the studio this past Saturday,

Later my dogs and I explored the frozen landscape of the Willard park.

It’s interesting the prints that we leave behind, the marks we make on the landscape around us.  We think they are so permanent…yet they are just moments frozen in time soon to be washed away with the thawing and melting of spring…our days are very brief.

DSCN6773 A frozen Saturday morning that disappears almost as soon as it arrives…. we must take hold of the time we are given and live it to its fullness allowing the poetry and stillness to fill us with the gift of the Creator God.
